Don’t Shop on a Fat Day!

A rookie mistake that I don’t usually make. After meaning to stop at a new boutique for over a year, I finally found some time today. I should have waited…. I just came back from a fabulous two week Italian vacation where I ate and drank my way through the country. Before that, I was in a cast for two weeks. I thought I had taken off most of the six pounds I gained, but now I am not sure.

Trying on clothes is challenging enough but especially hard when you are not feeling your best. Luckily, shirts work and I found a couple gorgeous ones. I have to laugh…I went looking to add a little color and a dress or two to my wardrobe, but came back with two off the shoulder tops, white and black! Well, at least they are not the Breton stripe that I have so many of! Hopefully, in a few weeks, when I have watched my intake and exercised more, I’ll try again!

A Day at the Beach!

There is nothing like a day at the beach to relax you and bring you back to a tranquil place. Tourists, children, young adults and adults of all ages stare out to sea, watching waves, swimmers and boats as their stress levels drift away. It doesn’t really matter what is going on elsewhere, for those precious moments you are transformed. Lakes, rivers and mountains do the same. It’s nature, really. A recent study showed that companies can have more productive meetings by walking outdoors. The next time you are feeling stressed or out of sorts, head to the beach or any other place where you can appreciate Mother Nature. For at least a few moments you will feel at peace.

Volunteering as an Usher!

What a great experience ushering is! Last night I had the opportunity to usher for The Lion King. Wow! If you haven’t seen it, it’s a must. The puppets and costumes are over the top and I really want to meet the creative genius (or team) that conceived it. This season I have seen countless broadway shows, including Rent, Rock of Ages, concerts, including Patti Labelle, amazing holiday productions and more. It’s a way to give back to the community and be immersed in the arts at well! Most ushers are retirees and some are in their 80’s! Everyone has their own interest but if you love the arts, this one is for you! Contact your local theatre and see what opportunities await. I guarantee that you will be entertained and surprised when your favorite show was something you never expected.

Welcome to All!

A very Happy Easter and Passover to all. It is also the birth of my new site and my first post! I look forward to a long and meaningful relationship where we explore Senior Style and all that encompasses. From fashion and beauty, to health and wellness, family, travel, lifestyle, activities and how we live. It’s an exciting time where choices are plentiful. Staying young at heart and staying open to new adventures will lead to unknown and undiscovered paths. Let’s remain hopeful, happy, and keep our sense of fun as we travel into the future!!
